Dear Editor:
On behalf of the Music Fest Committee (Don Brennan, Jay Wilson and John Pilch), this message is being sent to the Navajo Community residents and others who made this event a success. Thanks to the donors, we were able to raise our budgeted amount of $45,000 and can cover our bills for the 2009 event.
Special thanks to Windmill Farms, the City of San Diego (former Councilman Jim Madaffer) and the County of San Diego (Supervisor Pam Slater-Price), who were the major sponsors. We also thank Kaiser Permanente, the San Carlos/Lake Murray Recreation Council and the Allied Gardens Recreation Council for their generous support. Many thanks to the Kiwanis Club of Lake Murray, Superior Ready Mix, Lindy and Kassy Kaiser of RE/MAX Heritage Homes, Dieter Fischer's Mercedes Service of La Mesa and Century 21 - Award of La Mesa. THanks to the San Carlos Area Council, H.G. Fenton Company, El Cerrito Veterinary Hospital, the Kiwanis Club of Grantville/Allied Gardens and Chuck Hoffman of ACI Realty/Doncha Corp.
Special thanks to Pam Melody, our Del Cerro "Bake Sale” coordinator and the members of San Carlos United Methodist Church, especially Kim Ports, for the "Cool Zone,” free water and a play area for kids. Thank you to Miss La Mesa, Stephanie Packard, and Miss Teen La Mesa, Katarina Schweitzer, for attending and assisting at the Info Booth, handing out programs and getting donations. Alvarado Hospital donated the cost of the ambulance and the two technicians, who were kept busier this year than ever before, although the injuries were minor. We appreciated the efforts of the Patrick Henry Band members, who collected trash and recycled throughout the day.
Thanks to our other "In-Kind" sponsors: Michael's Printing for the donation flyers and programs and Pat Jordan of Keller Williams Realty for distributing our donation flyers with his Chargers Schedule magnets. We truly appreciate the flyer distribution by Kassy and Lindy Kaiser and everyone who made this event a success. Our apologies to anyone who was missed. We're working on the 2010 event and hope to raise the funds earlier. If you enjoyed the 2009 event, especially the Surf City All Stars and Rockola, please consider making a donation at www.navajoevents.com .
You can help us to hold this free, fun, family event at the lake next year by sending your check in any amount you can afford to Lake Murray Music Fest, P.O. Box 191522, S.D., CA 92159-1522.
