(Mission Times Courier, San Diego, CA) We are pleased to announce that a new arts program for our Dailard students, "Arts Attack" has been purchased and the teachers are looking forward to having parent volunteers support the program. Arts Attack is a K-5 arts curriculum that has 24 art lessons for each grade-level. The supporting arts curriculum binder and modeled lesson on DVD make the program quick to adapt to any classroom. If you are interested in supporting this program in your child's classroom, please contact your child's teacher.
Dailard's Book fair collected $6525.01! The library will receive $1816.99 and $470.00 in books from Scholastic Warehouse. Even more, the Dailard Staff was given 111 books totaling $860.18 from our generous families. What a way terrific way to start the year!
The new Afternoon Flag Pole and Drive-Thru Pickup program is moving along. This new procedure is to control the flow of student traffic to bring about safer departures for our children. Our teachers are working as partners to allow for supervision at both the flag and drive-thru zones. Ninety percent of the students are being picked up in the first 12 minutes following dismissal. This is tremendous for both safety and efficiency.
