(Mission Times Courier, San Diego, CA) Foster had a great ending to the year 2007 with the help of so many wonderful volunteers. Our PTA, parents, Optimists, and Foster staff were very busy with so many wonderful events for our children. Volunteers were there to help with our second annual Gingerbread Shop, Scholastic Book Fair, and Holiday Nights Carnival. It is always so great seeing so many people working together for the benefit of the children at Foster.
The year 2008 is getting off to a great start also. We are looking forward to many events to benefit our students. Our first "Family Night Out" dinner was held at Emiliano's on Monday, January 14. Part of the proceeds from Foster diners will be donated back to our school. We are also preparing for our fundraiser, Pennies for Pasta, where the money is given to the Leukemia Society. Last year Principal Downey was taped to a tree and had pies thrown in his face, all in the name of raising money. We look forward to see what crazy thing Mr. Downey will do this year. Our PTA is also putting much time and effort into our Spring Silent Auction, which will be held at Saint Therese on March 29.
If you are interested in donating to our auction please contact Patty Mabanta at (619) 582-2728. We hope this year the Allied Gardens Community will come and join in the fun. Be on the look out for upcoming information about the auction.
