(Mission Times Courier, San Diego, CA) Green Elementary held its first annual Adult-Only Dinner and Live Auction at the La Mesa Community Center on November 2, and raised over $40,000. Green's "Gecko Gala" received over 180 items for auction and drew over 200 guests including family, friends, neighbors, school staff and teachers, and special guests Grant and Shirley Bening.
The Benings, parents of Hollywood actress Annette Bening and former student of Green, made a special presentation of $10,000 from Annette that brought a standing ovation.
Thanks to Marcia Stolnack, Special Ed. assistant at Green for volunteering her husband Russ Stolnack, a professional comedian and auctioneer (

Gala net proceeds will be used to purchase computers for Green students. We are deeply grateful to all our generous donors, sponsors, volunteers, and guests. Check out
