Lewis Middle School

Lewis opened their doors on September 3rd with record numbers of excited new students. Principal Brad Callahan is pleased to announce that, despite a large cut to his budget, he was able to keep several exciting electives such as woodshop, Spanish and computer exploration while adding on a new engineering class for 7th and 8th graders.

The Lewis library needs volunteers more than ever. Please call (619) 583-3233 if you would like to volunteer some of your time to our children.

The "Welcome Back BBQ" on September 12th was a great success for Lewis families, teachers and staff with dinner hosted by the Grantville-Allied Gardens Kiwanis, a hula hoop contest, Robeks smoothie samples, music by DJ "Spectrum Sound" and a sneak peek at our book fair.

Dates to remember: All are welcome to attend the Lewis Foundation meeting on Wednesday, October 15 at 6:30pm in Room 501 at the school. Get a ump on holiday shopping and raise funds for Lewis at the Barnes & Noble store at Grossmont Center on Wednesday, November 19th from 5:00-8:00pm. Save the Date for the 3rd annual "Mardi Gras Celebration and Silent Auction." The Mardi Gras event will be held Saturday, March 7, 2009 at St. Therese Community Center.
