Lewis Middle School's 3rd Annual Silent Auction and Celebration fundraiser was a big hit! Thanks to Ann Golumbuk's vision, creativity and action, St. Therese's Social Hall was transformed into a colorful bar and lounge. The setting was complete with beautiful Candy Girls who flaunted their adorable red and black outfits and hats while toting box trays stocked with cigars, chocolate, raffle, 50/50 and drink tickets for sale. These SDSU beauties really added to the ambiance.
The entire evening was fun and fabulous! There was socializing from one end to the other and dancing to live music by Rock-It-Science. It was obvious they had accomplished their goal. The goal was to bring the community together with their wonderful and supportive teachers, staff and friends. And it put a smile on your face to see it in action.
One gentleman shared how he met up with someone he had known for years, but didn't realize they had friends in common; teachers were with their friends and spouses; parents and teachers in the same room, but instead of discussions there were toasts to having fun. A few were fortunate enough to dance with Principal Brad Callahan - the man knows how to party; and neighbors gathered at the many scattered belly tables. Of course raising over $9,000 for Lewis Middle School and it's students brought even more satisfaction.
Del Cerro Liquor stocked the bar and provided Kat, one of their fun and knowledgeable experts. More than 150 guests mingled around the room from one comfy, cozy sofa or chair to another. The Private Seating guests, who had named themselves Boys in the Hood and Custom Logo Gang, were seated center and comfortably in their very own candle lit lounge area. And they all looked like models hired to class up the joint. The on-site photographers captured these beautiful folks along with many other group, couple and solo shots the entire evening.
Todd Miller outdid himself by perfectly placing beautifully displayed fruits, cheeses, pizzas, and a variety of hot and cold finger foods from local eateries and businesses. His 24-feet of a white draped table was colorfully displayed and the food selection was colorful to the palate. Be sure to call Todd Miller for your next catering job.
Though totally separated from the lounge, the Silent Auction was also a success. The economy significantly decreased the number of items donated, but there were many wonderful donations which helped make the event a financial success.
A highlight of the evening was when Vice Principal MC Patton and her little red dress joined the awesome band for a stellar performance where she not only rocked the microphone but gave guests a real show. MC's new name - The Party Queen.
It was a night to remember, and an absolutely wonderful way to support the school, community, children and future. A big thank you to every one of the parents, volunteers, donors, staff, neighbors, friends and family who made Louie's Leopard Lounge a success!
