Pershing 6th Grade Wheel Class - There are so many exciting things happening at Pershing! Let's begin with our Technology Wheel class taught by Mr. Eric Carroll. This new and innovative class is designed to teach the students the importance of technology as it relates to their education. Since computers are such an important part of our lives we want the students to learn skills that they can build on as they advance through middle school and beyond.

In nine weeks students learn: keyboarding skills, how to create a PowerPoint Presentation, how to research on the Internet, how to use basic word processing programs, the purpose of a spreadsheet, and the use and care of a computer.

Nine weeks isn't long enough for the students to learn all they need to know about technology, but they do learn enough to build a foundation for their future success.

The Wizard Of Oz - The Drama students at Pershing Middle School and Pershing's Prime Time after School Program took a trip over the Rainbow in December as they presented their Production of The Wizard Of Oz (presented by special arrangement with Tams Witmarks Music Library Inc.).

The students told the story of Dorothy's trip to Munchkin Land and the Emerald City of Oz via the Yellow Brick Road. Although just a dream, the cast and crew of approximately 100 students brought the story of Dorothy's displacement from her home in Kansas to life with their singing, dancing and acting and their costumes and scenery.
