(Mission Times Courier, San Diego, CA) - On Thursday, July 22nd, the Del Cerro Action Council (DCAC) will hold its quarterly meeting at Temple Emanu-El at 7:00 p.m. The program will feature a presentation to include Del Cerro in a pilot solar energy project - one that will use savings from solar energy to fund the participant's portion of this project. The DCAC Board and several community members received a briefing on the project and determined it has merit to present to residents to determine the true interest in the project. This would be a voluntary endeavor.

(Mission Times Courier, San Diego, CA) -Our new web site and blog is up and running so please add it to your favorites list. Go to www.d elcerroactioncouncil.wordpress .com. You will find plenty of information about Del Cerro and related matters including phone numbers for City, County and State contacts. There’s also a link to the chronology of the SDSU lawsuit and Adobe Falls.

The City of San Diego has filed its Notice of Appeal regarding the lawsuit; SDSU vs. City of San Diego, MTS and Del Cerro Action Council. Because of the cost involved, the DCAC Board has voted not to appeal the decision. For your reference and referral, a copy of the City’s Notice of Appeal may be found at www. delcerroactioncouncil.wordpres s.com. At this time, we don’t know if the Metropolitan Transit System is going to file along with the City of San Diego.
The DCAC is working through Councilmember Marti Emerald’s office to repair some cracks in the brick walkway adjacent to the playground at the Princess Del Cerro Park. We’ve also been asked by residents about purchasing personal pavers for the walkway. There are two sizes of pavers; a single is $100 and the double is $200. Additional information is available on our web site.

(Mission Times Courier, San Diego, CA) - Our April meeting was a packed agenda. Fire Capt. McKinney and his crew from the Del Cerro Fire Station gave an update on their priorities and what the residents can do to help.

When asked about the rolling brown outs, Capt. McKinney gave a response scenario with the closing of Fire Station 10 in the College Area. If we have a major structure fire, 3-4 units will respond. After the San Carlos unit arrives, we count on support from Mission Valley and/or North Park. He concluded by emphasizing the brush season is just around the corner and encouraged everyone to cut back their brush to create the recommended safety zone; particularly everyone adjacent to canyons.

(Mission Times Courier, San Diego, Ca) - The positive news for Del Cerro is the City is actually ready to begin undergrounding "residential" areas north of I-8 and the first major area is designated 7CC. This is the first development area of Del Cerro; east of College Avenue and everything south of Elmcrest. This encompasses 425 homes. On Thursday, March 25 from 6-8pm, Nathan Bruner, the City's Undergrounding Program Manager and his staff will be at Temple Emanu-El to go over the details of the project that will begin in April or May. Mr. Bruner will also be sending out invitations for this meeting to each of the 425 residences in the 7CC area. If you would like more information regarding the underground program including a status of all of the active projects, the master plan, or completed projects, you can visit the website at www.sandiego.g ov/undergrounding.

(Mission Times Courier, San Diego, Ca) -  The update on San Diego State University and the fact they won their appeal was a hot topic at our January meeting and we will keep you up to date as we gain more information on what it actually means.  At least we know neither SDSU nor the State has any funds to begin building anything in the near future.
